The Standout Campaigns to Inspire your 2018 Christmas Marketing Strategy

With Christmas right around the corner, so too are the wonderful festive pop up shops, promotions and activations in stores around the country.

Year on year, the growth in pop ups and promotional space continues to grow, with brands and agencies increasingly turning to this style of marketing in order to get in front of thousands of additional shoppers during the busiest time of year. 

To get you into the festive mood and provide some inspiration for this year, we’re tipping our hat to our favourite festive promotions and brand activations from around the country.

Malteser Pop Up Shop

If you happen to be a huge chocolate lover like ourselves here at Fillit, then prepare to be amazed by Malteser’s 2017 Pop Up Shop, which sparked global interest as Ireland’s first ever personalised selection box pop up. Located in Arnotts on Grafton Street, this stand-out space sold a broad range of Malteser products, as well as having Galaxy and Snickers chocolate also on offer. The pop up space did extremely well for itself over the festive period, attracting over 12,000 unique shoppers, and gaining huge traction online and across social media.

Lily O’Briens Pop Up Store

Luxury Chocolate brand Lily O’Brien’s pop up shop in Kildare Village is a truly festive, unique customer experience. Every year this empty warehouse is transformed into a beautiful and colourful festive space. The walls are painted a rich shade of chocolate brown, and the interior is decorated in a mix of vibrant colours.The store offers a number of different gifting ranges, and well as some tasty treats for customers to try while browsing.

Lily O’Brien’s pop-up store will return to Kildare Village once again this year on October 19th 2018.

Coca-Cola Christmas Truck

We can’t discuss Christmas campaigns in Ireland without giving a nod to the Coca-Cola Christmas Truck, which dominated our highways and byways last Christmas. 

For a lot of people (us included), the festive season doesn’t truly begin until we hear Coca-Cola’s infamous “holidays are coming” advertisement on our TV screens. Therefore, one can only imagine the excitement when it was announced that this Christmas truck would be doing the rounds across the country. 

Hoards of crowds turned up at every stop for the Coca-Cola Christmas Truck experience, which included family photos, a virtual reality sleigh ride, product sampling, and an added extra bonus with the chance to win a Coca-Cola truck stop for your own town or village.

Moët & Chandon Photobooth

When gold branded Moët & Chandon Photobooths landed in the luxury Christmas gift section of Brown Thomas in 2016, it’s safe to say that heads were turned. This super unique brand activation allowed shoppers to create a personalized label for their bottle of champagne. This was the first of its kind in Ireland and resulted in a truly unique gift to share during the festive season.
